Etymology[edit]

Apartheid is an Afrikaans^[20] word meaning "separateness", or "the state of being apart", literally "apart-hood."^[21][22] Its first recorded use was in 1929.^[9]

南非種族隔離（南非語：Apartheid）為1948年至1994年間南非共和國在南非國民黨執政時實行的一種種族隔離制度，當時佔大多數的黑人，其包括集會、結社的各項權利受到大幅限制，維持歐洲移民的阿非利卡人的少數統治。
