Shares in Slack, the workplace chat platform, soared in its first day of public trading, putting the company's value at more than $20 billion. After just five years, Slack is used by more than 10 million users and has become a verb (“I’ll Slack you”) in the process.
In 2014,
Slack's CEO told us his company's communication tool "right now is just a giant piece of shit" and that they "still have a long way to go."
Congratulations on all the progress you've made since then and for going public. 🍾 🥂
Slack wants to be an open, searchable home for all your work communication.
