queer (1922)

‘A broad-based group of queers committed to radical, non-violent direct action and civil disobedience’. These words were used to describe OutRage! – the most prominent gay rights direct action group in the UK until disbanding in 2011.

When Prince Charles married Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005, the question of whether a member of the Royal Family could marry in a civil ceremony had to be constitutionally clarified. These posters are a good example of the topical slogans and imagery utilised by OutRage!, which was founded in 1990 following the murders of several gay men in London and an increase in targeted policing of gay people.

【WOW！黃裕邦《天裂》殺入Lambda Literary Awards最後名單！】

香港土生土長的英語詩人黃裕邦(Nicholas Wong)，其2015出版詩集《天裂》（Crevasse）剛入選美國第28屆Lambda Literary Awards (Gay Poetry)最後入圍名單。該奬項在美國被視為文壇艾美獎(Lammys)，亦是全世界對酷兒文學創作（Queer Literature)作出嘉許的最高殊榮。Nicholas 是首個入選該組別的香港人，而同時亦是能夠進入今屆最後名單的兩個亞洲詩人之一（另一位是現已移居紐約的新加坡詩人Jee Leong Koh)。是次獲得國際肯定証明本地文字創作正藴釀一股新力量，不能忽視。

頒獎禮將於6月6日在紐約大學Skirball Center for the Performing Arts 舉行，嘉賓包括曾在奧巴馬就職典禮上朗讀自己作品的拉丁美裔男同詩人Richard Blanco。所有得獎者將於該典禮揭曉。
